Slap a Cross On It

The point of living FOR JESUS in this worldly, erm, world… is NOT that we take what the world does and “slap a Cross on it” to make it somehow/suddenly “be Christian” now.

The world be upside-down, yo; we need to flip that script and build our lives On HIM–On LORD JESUS!

With HIM As our FIRM FOUNDATION–The SOLID ROCK on which we stand!–we have the sure footing to build our lives In Him and On Him…from the ground up.

What this means is that our lives should and will be DIFFERENT than the lives valued by the world.

Not just “pretty much the same, except with less cussing and LOTS of Scripture Verse Bumper Bumper Stickers, T-Shirts, Coffee Mugs, and Cross Decals on everything.”

If the world spends an hour a day on “scrolling and social media,” we need to stay away from those things completely.

(“But I use social media to witness to peeps!” That’s great! Lots of peeps get SUPER-sucked-into the drama and clickbait and end up wasting LOTS of time–and making themselves SUPER-depressed from such things, tho, so have a care, my beloveds.)

If the world is ok with affirming stuff that God Does not affirm, then why do we follow that trend? To be “relevant” or “on the right side of history” or just “civilised and tolerant” ??

(I don’t know about you, but if I’m in a class where the kiddies are telling me I did a great job on my speech, but the teacher’s like “gRRL you apparently didn’t check out my rubric for the assignment, AHEM!” then am I listening to the COOL KIDS, the MANY, the PEERS, or am I listening to and using the standard set by the one with the red pen? (Assuming I don’t want to fail the class.)

If the world is ok listening to a song glorifying stuff that God Isn’t cool with (according to The Bible), or watching a film that promotes the desecration Of His Holiness–or His Holy Temples (us!), then, like…

I think you know where I’m going with this.

Sure, it’s hard to go against the flow… and being different just to be different, or just to be noticed or just to drum up support from a built-in audience, well, that’s just as bad as going with the flow. Coz you’re not taking a stand, you’re just trying to stand out, when you should actually be standing UP For Jesus.

We are called to live a life that is HOLY, to be a LIVING SACRIFICE To God! No sacrifice we make is even CLOSE to being “too much,” no price is “too steep” for us to “pay” in order to be With Him–or even “pay Him back” for taking our sins Upon Himself.
