[Author’s Note: this was my answer to a post called “Can a Christian have a demon?”

Hundreds of “ungentle” comments followed in just three hours. Lots of the whole “whooping people With Scripture” thing followed, but no one addressed what being a Christian actually is, and the trap fallen into by so many today. Ergo… ]

There are many who believe themselves to be following Jesus, but do not allow Him into their hearts and lives, do not submit their free will back To Him, and do not make space To Hear Holy Spirit.

If we can’t Hear Him and don’t submit To Him, can we bear The Fruit Of The Spirit in our lives?

We can know about God but not know HIM, in other words.

We can be hearers Of His Word but NOT be doers Of His Word.

We COULD (God Forbid!) be found lukewarm or even cast out devils In His Name but hear “depart From Me, I never knew you!”

If you are unsure of your salvation, say:

“Father God, I know You Created me and Love me! Jesus Christ, I know You Took on my sins and all sins of all humans… and our punishment, too! You paid for our sin-debt, Died for us, defeated death, rose again, and reign forever!

I want to spend eternity With You when my life here is over.

And I want to spend the rest of my days here serving You alone!

I ask Your forgiveness, repent from my sin, renounce all unGodliness, and ask You to Be MY LORD and my Friend.

Take my life and transform it to Your Specifications. Help me change. Welcome, Holy Spirit, enter my life and make it Your Temple. And make me a fitting vessel to house You—and to reflect Your Glory, LORD, in this dingy, fallen world.

Take over and convict my heart that I might not sin against you.

Remove any LOSER demons still hanging around here, and show me how to live in a way that doesn’t invite them in.

Strengthen me. Help me. Purify me. Heal me.

Surround me. Fill me.

I’m YOURS, Jesus!

I LOVE You, Papa YAHWEH!

Holy Spirit, You Are AWESOME!!!!!

Can’t wait to hang out With my royal Family and get to know You better and better every day.

Make me new!
