“what is the church biblically?”
Hello everybody, MB here again.
I just heard the above question.
While I did not get a chance to answer it to the person who asked it, I do have an answer that I feel should be shared.
So to answer….
Biblically, the church is the body of Christ, the church is also the bride of Christ.
The church is not a building, but a people; the church is not a building, but a mindset.
the church is not a building, but a mode of conduct, the church is not a building, but a lifestyle.
The church is a group of people that gather together to worship the one true and living God, the Almighty triune God of the Bible. The God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and anyone else that’s brave enough, not only to claim him, but to follow him truly.
The church is a community.
It’s not just a building.
We call the church the body of Christ because we are his eyes, ears, nose, mouth, arms, hands, legs, feet, mind and heart here on earth.
We are the bride of Christ because he loved us enough to die for us.
Yes, he did that for all of humanity past present and future, but the church are the ones who accept that gift and encourage others to do the same.
The church is the people who will walk the life of a true Bible-believing, Bible-reading, Bible-preaching, and Bible-living follower of Christ.
