Dear Blabby: boys and bars

(Posted anonymously in an online community of Christian women; this was my answer. Please feel free to send me questions for the reintroduction of Dear Blabby! 🙏♥️✝️)

Is there anything wrong with going out for drinks at fancy bars occasionally with your boyfriend and having liquor at home? Not to get drunk, but just to enjoy yourselves?

I’d ask why my sister feels she needs alcohol to enjoy herself; also, not sure about you, but in my earlier life, alcohol plus a hot guy = desire for/danger of more physical intimacy than Holy Spirit would Allow me (before convicting the trash out of me :)

if you haven’t “Gone too far” already then alcohol won’t help your resolve to abstain from shenanigans.

We’ve all made mistakes of various types but in my 47 years, I’ve learned (the very hard way, at times) to avoid any situation that has a .000000001 per cent chance of going a way that isn’t Bible.

I love you, sis, and God Loves you even more than I do.

I feel that one of you really wants to get married but something is in the way.

I pray you both hold out for God’s Best in your life. (I didn’t want to get married coz I thought it would interfere with my ministry and my band but God Gave me list of things to do (my Esther year, and what we now call my “moratorium”) and once I did it all, He sent me a ministry partner (at like 45!) and we eloped a few months ago. (I got disinherited but that’s another story, lol. Would be happy to share any details on that or anything related to our story or how God Moved in our life, feel free to write and ask. (I’m keeping a journal so I can write our memoirs and “how we got married!” Once I get older. (Coz 47.9 ain’t old! xD
