I just read a question saying that the person was smelling cigarette smoke where there were no humans. Several people seemed to believe that such was a manifestation and or a monitoring spirit.

For the record, that can’t be known in general (unless our LORD Chooses To Reveal such to a person).

In GENERAL, this is the correct and Biblical answer:

“Hey friend! If it’s not of God we just say “out In The Name Of Jesus.” 

That single line works for anything that is not Of Him. 

You don’t need to name spirits; His Name does the work and It Does Work! (and what if you said the wrong name and didn’t say the right one?) No need for drawn out incantations or other things which make humans feel powerful but are not only ineffectual against demons but also make them laugh (ie we have no power to cut the claws off of demons or send them to hell or deploy angels). We are not God’s generals, we are joint-heirs With Jesus, Grafted into God’s Family (PRAISE GOD!!!). 

“Pleading The Blood” is not required

(Coz it’s unBiblical and His Blood is about salvation) if you are both saved. (Aka InDwelt By Holy Spirit) 

“Drawing a bloodline” is a false teaching also, because if I am already saved then I don’t need to be re-covered By The Blood, and if I’m not saved then my mama’s “drawing of bloodline” can’t save me. I have to submit my life To Jesus for myself. 

If a (deliverance) prayer takes more than that one sentence—“out In The Name Of Jesus”—it’s me trying to puff up my own importance and my own “power” and my own role in deliverance.
