It seems that atheism itself is a direct result of Adam and Eve, having eaten the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil as they were instructed not to.
By eating that fruit, they were given knowledge that they could not fully understand. They were given knowledge that was never meant for them, but for God alone. If the knowledge was meant for God alone, how could we even begin to think that we with our finite and flawed minds could ever begin to understand it?
What do humans do with things they don’t understand?
If they do not seek answers, they make their own up in the form of theories and arguments. This is why we have so many different religions, this is why we have so many different theories as to how the world came to be, this is why we have so many different theories about who God is, what he wants from us and why he does or does not do what he does or does not do.
At the end of the day, we’re just trying to fill in gaps in knowledge that we were never meant to have …and could never understand.
