Even a Papercut

An unhealed wound–even a papercut–can become infected and lead to mega-problems.

Why?

It’s not (just) the nastiness that may soon fester in the (ostensibly) heretofore-unbreached barrier, but the breach itself.

An open doorway is an open door–and an invitation–even if it’s shaped like a window or a dog door or a mail slot.

And whether that breach in your soul (you didn’t think I was really going to stay on papercuts for the whole thing, did you?) has let in a contagion or an allergen, a virus or bacteria or heavy metal (not metallica) or a neurotoxin or poison or whatever else… well, an infection is just one way to get more damaged.

The “open wound/open door” can lead one person to give up, and another to go Scarlett O’Hara Mode (“I’ll never be hungry–or abandoned, or rejected, or used–again!”); it can cause one person to get clingy in their next relationship, and another to get aloof and standoffish (or, like, “sweet until something happens,” after which, “cut-off game be STRONG.”).

The point is that those wounds–those entry points that are NEVER ignored by the loser devil and his loser minion demon trashy trashes–need to heal up, or else you will go through life with buttons and triggers that both humans and demons can and will push (with reckless abandon).

How does one heal, then?

First and foremost, take it To GOD! <3

Be completely honest With Him about what happened and how you feel about it all… Even if you were the person “in the wrong.”

Ask for His insight into whether you had a role in the snafu/trauma–and ask His forgiveness

Whether you were not the person “in the wrong.”

“Wait, why do I need to apologise To GOD when this guy drove into my living room???”

Because even if someone injured you (physically or emotionally), you may now have an UNHEALED wound from it (whether from offense or bitterness or resentment–real or perceived–or grief or even “just” thinking about it enough (on purpose or not).

If your wound is still so unhealed now that it’s abundantly clear to anyone around you TODAY that, months (years?!) later, you’re still not ok, rhen, like… that’s a prob, fam. Just for your own mental state and your relationship With Jesus.

This is not to say you’re in the wrong for having a hard time getting past it, btw; just that we often forget to run To Him with our woes and our wounds–when, in fact, He Is The ONLY One Who Can Heal us properly and completely.

And let me testify that sometimes you get so wronged that it would be weird to NOT have negative emotions about it. Recently, we were set up to not only get betrayed, but to take the fall for someone else’s bad planning. (Though… the timing would indicate that it WAS to with a plan… written by a nefarious demon, though, and not just someone who failed Home Ec, or whatever class non-Catholic high schoolers got to take that’s to do with the skills grown-ups need to learn, aka scheduling and budgeting and balancing, oh my.

Anyway, even though this entity didn’t need any help getting itself into trouble. And even though God Protected us from what could have been a $30k mess that we literally had NAUGHT to do with… every time I think of this fiasco, I get very upset and weep for at least 30 minutes. And my thoughts are not loving visions of Godly forgiveness to the evil-doers.

So I need to apologise for that. Yes, I WAS wronged, but my reaction was ALSO wrong—and, I’d argue, it was also “JUST as wrong.”

So.

Next time you leave a “lowly” paper cut without polysporin or a Bandaid, since “it doesn’t really hurt, and it doesn’t even look that scary or impressive, anyway!” remember that the CUT might not be too bad, but ANY opening is an opening that the enemy can, will, and always DOES make use of, and an invitation that he must ALWAYS say yes to!

(Aka “Just Say NO to Scrubs!!”

And I don’t mean the kind nurses wear OR those jars of sugar or salt “in a moisturizing system of suspended exfoliant that leaves your skin delightfully smooth and yet not/at-all-dehydrated,” either, but rather, “unclean spirits,” aka “loza demons.” (Hmph.)

PS

“Yo Sall, is it possible that even ONE PERSON on this planet might NOt grow vexed with someone who wronged them? Like literally just ONE person?”

Of COURSE, friend :))

I mean, that’s the whole point of following Jesus, isn’t it?
To grow more like Him, over time?
To become any other person BUT the one that an atheist says “um, I’m sure God Is nice, but His Followers…??! Scare-EEE, man!” About?

Did EVERY person on the receiving end of someone’s Peugeot (which took out more than half their living room and most of their kitchen nook) NECESSARILY do something that may have, erm, driven the driver to spend the day bouncing off the walls instead of, like, driving sales or internet traffic (or just plain “driving out demons,” while we’re on the subject, heh)?

Meaning “why do I gotta ask God For His Forgiveness when someone else did some shady stuff to me this time?”

In my experience, people who love Jesus should take every opportunity to love the most, to apologise first, and bless others the biggest. We don’t confess our sins nearly enough, or acknowledge, repent of, renounce, and stay a “safe” distance away from the very things that break His Heart AND destroy our own lives (and keep us enslaved to our own destructive habits).

Anyway, I do love thee, friendly friend, and pray God’s most perfect Will be done, and I say an extra prayer right now for you and yours, In The HOLY Name Of Jesus, Amin!
