For all my extroverted Christ curious friends:
Remember, friendships based in the world might be entertaining, but only fellowship with God is soul sustaining.
Friendships with humans come and go but communion with God is eternal.
He will never get tired of you, he will never leave you and he’s always there for you.
Friends in the world can lead you away from God, can lead you into sin, but God himself will only ever lead you towards him and to righteousness.
Don’t ever think that our relationships of any kind in this world will be more fulfilling and rewarding than building one with God himself.
God is the creator of all things
God is all knowing
God is all powerful
God is all that is good
God is our protector
God is our provider
God is our heavenly father
He is all of these things and he wants to be our best friend.
Abraham, Moses, Lazarus and the 12 disciples of Jesus Christ that are all known as friends of God in his word.
Abraham: Directly named as God’s friend in 2 Chronicles 20:7, Isaiah 41:8, and James 2:23 because of his deep faith and obedience.
Moses: Described in Exodus 33:11 as speaking with God “face to face, as a man speaks to his friend”.
The Disciples / Apostles: Designated as friends by Jesus in John 15:15, where He says He no longer calls them servants because He has shared the Father’s matters with them.
Lazarus: Referred to by Jesus as a “friend” in John 11:11 when speaking of his death and upcoming resurrection.
What would God say about you?
