I don’t know who needs to hear this but “don’t wait till it’s too late”.
That’s something God told me while I was in prayer this morning. It may be for me, but I know it’s for someone else as well. God has his perfect time for everything we should act on something. He tells us to when he tells us to not when it is convenient for us or when we want to do it. God’s time is endless, but it’s no less precious than yours. In fact I submit to you that his time is far more precious than yours.
He intends for things to happen when he wants them to happen and he will make them happen when he wants them to happen even if you’re not there to do it. With obedience comes the opportunities to please him with opportunities to please him comes opportunities for blessings with opportunities for blessing comes joy and many other things the father delights in blessing us with; he delights in seeing us grow and prosper. He gives us many opportunities for it, but those opportunities often times are time sensitive. You don’t know what he has planned for the things he has you do.
You don’t know what he has planned for the things that he has called you to. You could do something that would lead to the salvation of one or two people or it could lead to millions or even billions coming to know the God that you serve. Your obedience could save someone’s life. Not through your own hand or your power because without God you have none but through his infinite love and mercy. Did he tell you to write a book? Maybe someone who would read that book is in a very dark place right now and needs the words that God will only give to you.
Did he call you to write a song? Maybe those lyrics or that melody is meant to bring someone out of a creative funk and help them step into their own calling someone you will never know on this earth, someone you will never see except for when you meet in eternity. Something that seems insignificant to you, something that seems like it can wait isn’t insignificant to God at all. He doesn’t do things that are trivial, he doesn’t do things that are meaningless. He doesn’t give us busy work because he wants us out of his hair. He partners with us to do wondrous things because it delights him to do so. He partners with us to do things he could do on his own because it pleases him to use us in furtherance of his will.
He created us all and gifted us each which unique talents and gifts. We are meant to use those talents and gifts to accomplish his will on this earth according to his own word found in the Bible, it’s not his will that any should perish, but that all should have eternal life. Meaning it is his will that all should find salvation through Jesus Christ and he’s using us. He is giving us the honor of being the tools he uses to make that happen.
Please remember this, he created you for a purpose that doesn’t mean he needs you. It means he wants to partner with you. It means he wants to work with you, but if you choose not to, there is someone else who will. With obedience comes blessing, don’t miss out on your blessing. With accomplishment comes reward, don’t miss out on yours.
Most importantly, though, don’t choose to be selfish and allow someone to never have the chance at theirs because you wanted to put your assignment off.
Don’t wait until it’s too late!
