Christian Nationalism

What would Jesus think of Christian nationalism and their attempts at turning the US into a fascist third world military dictatorship?

  • I am not Jesus, I do not claim to be Jesus everything below this is just my opinion*

Let’s get one thing out of the way… Modern day Christianity is not Christianity at all. If we look at the teachings of Jesus from the Bible, and look at the drastic differences between those teachings and the ones that can be found in churches today, Jesus Christ would certainly not call modern day Christians his followers. From what I see in modern Christianity, I believe it is far from what it once was.

I struggle to call what I see in churches today, Christianity.

I see churches that are full of both doctrines and teachings that cannot be found in the Bible. I see churches that no longer preach about the consequences of sin, the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ and him alone, and the necessity for forgiveness and repentance, but instead hide from the subject entirely or preach acceptance of sin instead.

I see churches who put on concerts every week with ever increasingly elaborate performances that center around individual singers or musicians instead of worshiping in spirit and in truth.

I see churches that are more concerned with people giving their tithes and offerings than they are with teaching them how to spread God’s word in a godly manner and making sure that their congregants are biblically literate before they do so.

So I highly doubt that he would call what is being taught by churches today Christianity, but I have a feeling he would call it a false doctrine of the enemy. (satan himself) That is if not a completely false religion, bearing the name Christianity.

A quick Google search reveals that Christian nationalism is: “a political ideology that seeks to merge a nation’s identity with the Christian faith. It asserts that the country was founded on Christian values and that the government should actively promote, protect, and base its laws on these principles.”

If the “Christian faith” that is attempting to merge with the nation’s identity as in this definition is rooted in the teachings of Jesus himself then he certainly wouldn’t have a problem with that happening i don’t think. Being the son of God, Jesus would be elated to see it.

However, him being happy to see it is completely dependent on both what is being spread and how it is being done. If it is being done through lying, killing, manipulation, or any other ungodly thing he would not be pleased.

As far as a military dictatorship… Certainly not. As the son of God, Jesus would not support the actions of a military dictator. Nor would he support the actions of anyone who would not try to spread his word peaceably and in full and complete truth.

Fascism: “Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology. It prioritizes the nation or race over the individual and is defined by a dictatorial leader, strict societal and economic regimentation, and the violent suppression of opposition.”

Jesus isn’t a nationalist, he wants unity and peace for all mankind.

He wants us to be able to have fellowship and a deep and abiding relationship with him, Yahweh (God the father) and Holy Spirit of God.

According to the Bible, God created all things and all people.

As our creator, God wants us to be unified, God wants us to be peaceful with each other.

God wants us to be united in love both for and by him.

God already has an eternal kingdom in heaven that he wants to partner with us to bring it here to Earth. He’s not interested in fascist ideology or totalitarian regime. With that holding true, it stands to reason that he would want nothing to do with a dictator of any type.

Hitler, Stalin and Mussolini come to mind as examples whenever I think of the word dictatorship.

That is what I think Jesus would feel as far as the state of Christianity today and the idea of Christian nationalism.
