Good morning everyone, today I want you all to consider something. I want you to consider the fact that we are all used to a certain way of living. I also want you all to consider the fact that the way we are used to living as individuals may not be the best of what God has for us.

Consider this following scenario for a moment.

What if:

You lived in a house where all of the house had air-conditioning except for your bedroom?

Add to that the fact that the only reason your room doesn’t have air-conditioning is because your landlord didn’t want to spring for one more window unit.

Would you go and buy your own window unit and just accept the increase in your electric bill?

Would you refuse to buy a window unit because you didn’t feel it was your responsibility?

Would you move one window unit from another place in the house to your bedroom?

Or… would you just sleep in your bedroom with the ceiling fan and possibly an extra box fan and deal with not having air-conditioning?

All of these are valid choices, but none of them is the ideal scenario.

The ideal scenario would be for your landlord to buy the extra AC unit and you pay the increase in the electric bill.

This can be applied to your faith as well. When do we begin our faith journey?

For a lot of us that’s when we are children and we don’t know any better. We go to church and participate in church activities. We read the Bible with our parents and so on so forth, but we don’t understand why, we just do it because they do it.

But, consider this.

What if the faith you grew up in wasn’t faith in the one true God?

What if you didn’t grow up knowing the true Jesus? Would you settle and just continue on worshiping something you knew wasn’t Jesus? Would you continue living in a space that wasn’t God’s will just because you’re used to it? Would you forgo God’s best because you’re too busy with the rest?

Today’s world hides God’s best behind the rest…

I encourage you to not settle for what the world offers you.

Instead, do as God’s word says in Matthew 7:7-8.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

Don’t settle, ask God for his best—the best thing that He Has Chosen for YOU.

He wants to give it to you as this above verse shows, but he won’t do so unless you ask.

Seek him out and he can be found. Seek Him out WHILE He can be found.

Ask for his will, and it will be given to you in his time.

Don’t let the world trick you into thinking what it offers you is what’s best for you.

Remember that the world did not create you, God did.

It’s God and God alone Who both knows what’s best for you and can provide it to you.
