Spitting Image

I was just sitting in a waiting room and noticed what had to be a lady and her son. She was literally him with a blonde ponytail and Shein Marilyn Monroe tank top.

Anyway, I was thinking how people can be the “spitting image” of someone they don’t know, don’t know about, or even like very much.

It’s like “I didn’t ask to look like them,” and “I didn’t ask to be like them.”

For better and for worse.

Maybe someone doesn’t want the “ism” in their biological family tree—racism, alcoholism, etc.

Maybe they don’t even want the nepotism or “head start” afforded them by a family relation.

In the end, we both inherit our DNA and some of our societal connections—and perhaps identities and memberships—from those whose actions resulted in our lives.

One thing we can’t directly inherit, however, is our spiritual status, aka “am I right With God? Have I given my life To Jesus?”

Aka God Hath no grandkids.

(This isn’t a Bible verse—directly, anyway. But The Holy Scripture DOES tell us to “work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.”)

Praise To our Maker, Who Adopts any and every person who asks it Of Him!
